Bomin Sells Shareholding in Bomin Linde LNG

The Bomin Group has sold its shareholding in Bomin Linde LNG. The company’s 50% stake in Bomin Linde LNG, a joint venture with Linde, was transferred to Linde AG, which in future owns all shares. The joint venture was formed in 2012.

Bomin took the decision based on the speed of transition within the marine fuel supply chain in line with changing regulations. The demand for LNG has been slower than anticipated, and while LNG remains a viable clean fuel product, Bomin’s focus in the short to medium term will be on other alternative products that meet emissions regulations.

Linde AG may continue the activities of Bomin Linde LNG under the current name until the end of March 2017, before being replaced by a new brand.

The Bomin Group has been active in the bunker business for almost 40 years via its subsidiaries and is one of the world’s leading independent suppliers and traders of marine fuel. The business portfolio covers activities ranging from the supply of bunker fuels to lubricants and other services to the shipping industry.
